ABSTRACT

Hulu Langat river basin has become major area for water source in Klang Valley, Selangor, Malaysia. The topography of Hulu Langat basin which has major tributaries and a significant headwater features signifies the importance of Hulu Langat basin to surrounding communities. The erosion risk level along the Hulu Langat River was categorized by encapsulating the degree of soil erodibility and degree of erosiveness via the implementation of ROSE index and ROME scale. Rainfall erosivity is an erosive power of rainfall to cause soil loss. There are several factors that persuade the erosivity of rain such as the rain intensity, duration, the level of rain velocity and size of raindrops. Rainfall with high intensity and low frequency can produce more erosion compared to rainfall with high frequency and low intensity (Wei et al. 2009).
