ABSTRACT

Bone strength is conditional upon the quality of the metabolism of bone tissue, is linked to bone density and bone (Kalvach Z, 2004; Osteoporosis Prevention, Diagnosis, and Therapy, 2000). In the muscle component there is shrinkage in the volume of muscles, a loss of muscle strength, endurance, elasticity and speed of muscle contraction. It is precisely this wastage of muscle mass accompanied by a loss of muscle function (muscle strength or performance) as a consequence of ageing that is referred to as sarcopenia (Kalvach Z, 2004; Cruz-Jentoft A, 2010).
