A novel algorithm of contour initialization

Figure 1(a) shows that the initial contour is usually set by hand far away from the objective edges. In this way, the capture range is expended and the interference of burr noise is avoided. But the larger capture range is at the cost of more iterations and larger GVF force field, which increases complexity of time and calculation. What’s more, it’s difficult to set the initial contour near the true contour just by interactive method.
