ABSTRACT

Social media has been a critical channel to deliver information in daily life. With the huge convenience it brings in transmitting and sharing information, it becomes very popular in all kinds of communities. Organizations of various business sectors are eager to exploit this new tool to promote the market development. Governments use it to know the public voice and make the policy-decision more practical. With the influence of social media in political, economic, and recreational fields, higher educational institutions start to recognize and utilize the idea of adopting the emerging technology in education processes. In order to understand the different uses of social media in various fields, e.g. political, economic, recreational, and educational uses of social media, this paper discusses 4 case studies.
