ABSTRACT
Robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System (Intuitive Surgical, Sunnyvale, California) has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in gynecology since April 2005. It provides an additional tool for performing minimally invasive gynecologic procedures, and has been widely adapted by new and established surgeons.
