ABSTRACT
Biometric solutions have gained popularity in business and government organizations for security and access controls. However, biometric computing technologies are still facing issues such as sample non-idealities and difficulty in recognition due to bad biometric sample quality. The biometric solution when combined with the artificial intelligence characterizes and analyzes the human uniqueness. It is observed that the artificial intelligence approaches such as neural networks, support vector machine, etc. provide the extraordinary solutions to the different biometric computing problems. This chapter attempts to provide an overview of the biometric computing and shows the significance of integrating the biometric computing with the artificial intelligence.
