Domestic violence and abuse (DVA) are a breach of human rights and a major public health problem which have a significant, long-lasting impact on people’s physical and mental health and well-being. Studies report that 21–55% of women will suffer DVA in their lifetime, however its prevalence is difficult to measure as it remains predominantly hidden.
