ABSTRACT

This chapter systematically explored the effect of different energy models on wireless sensor networks with an emphasis on dynamic source routing protocol (DSR). The literature review and application are discus before routing concept. In the evaluation, three energy models are deployed namely generic, mica-mote and micaZ. The performance of the scenario is judged based on energy consumption in transmit, receive and idle mode. The numerical analysis is proposed based on above models to characterize the effects of various energy specific parameters and to compare the relative performance of energy models over three power consumption strategies. The result signifies that the granularity for the choice of energy models on wireless sensor network has a profound impact on the overall system performance.
