ABSTRACT

The study of photonic crystal has many applications in photonic devices. The one-dimensional (1D) photonic crystal is used to obtain an omni-photonic bandgap, which is cost effective and easy to fabricate. We have presented the transmission properties of 1D periodic structure. Our study also includes the filtering capacity and band structure characteristics for 1D PC containing positive and negative index materials. The number of transmission channels and their frequencies can be precisely modulated by controlling the structural parameters and incident angle.
