ABSTRACT
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a field of computer science that focuses on creating machine-based algorithmic programs to replicate human cognition, such as reasoning, understanding and learning. The composition of this complex algorithm produces ‘intelligent machines’ or more popularly known as ‘smart technology’. Large patient to healthcare practitioner ratio is hazardous, with long hours of service causing fatigue-induced errors. AI-enhanced autonomous machineries are machine with the ability of performing simple to complex task with minimal supervision. Another application of AI for autonomous assistance is in the rehabilitation field. The creation of super intelligent AI in medicine might be the biggest event in human history, which will either trigger intelligence exponential or leave human intellect behind. AI features in machines have been the subject of controversy among critics, due to reports of inconsistencies, accidents, plausible loss of human control and breach of security.
