ABSTRACT

The article focused on the vibration transmission properties from the polygonised wheel to the axle-box by field test study. Coordinates transforming method was introduced for translational accelerations computing from the rotating accelerometers mounted on the wheelset. High frequency vibration induced polygonised wheel impacts was major component and amplified to the axle-box. Beat vibration phenomenon that increased vibration levels was caused by a slight frequency difference of the front and the rear wheels.
