ABSTRACT

In this study, we have developed vertical vehicle-track dynamic interaction simulation in which ground has been modelled as a continuum, and we have executed the simulation to investigate the effect of ground and track characteristics on wheel load variation, sleeper-ballast contact force and the ballast vibration acceleration. As a result, it is clarified that ground characteristics have a small effect on wheel load variation and track dynamic response, while spring constants of railpads have a significant influence on track dynamic response.
