Numerous investigation have been conducted to understand vehicle shimmy phenomenon in the past decades, but the influence of vehicle body to it is usually neglected. An eight DOFs dynamic model of ground vehicle shimmy system with consideration of vehicle body coupling effect is presented. This model takes a double-wishbone independent front suspension ground vehicle as a sample. Based on this model, numerical analysis is carried out, and the influence of the parameters of vehicle body, such as mass, moment of inertia and the position of center of mass are discussed. The results shows that the parameters related to vehicle body could make effects on the dynamic behavior of ground vehicle shimmy system.
