ABSTRACT
About 1.25 million death reported each year as the result of road traffic accidents. This is often associated with the lack of road management fund. Several decision support tools are available to be used to help in providing solution as a good road maintenance management practice. This paper discusses the application of road maintenance strategies which coupled with road safety condition in order to manage high-risk roads. The objective of this study is to identify the effect of road maintenance works and road safety countermeasures to road safety condition. The study analyses the effects of road assets deterioration and road maintenance strategies to road safety condition as a performance monitoring to a long-term planning at network level. From the analysis, it can be concluded that the analytical framework and modelling concept proposed in this study have successfully demonstrated the method to identify road maintenance works and road safety countermeasures effects to road safety condition.
