ABSTRACT

The adjuvants Aerotex (high boiling point fuel oil) and Dowanol (dispropylene glycol methyl ether), when added to a fenitrothion formulation containing Atlox 3409F (an ionic detergent), modified the chemical fate and biological uptake of fenitrothion insecticide. Differential modes of fate-transport depended on the algal genus, the water medium (estuarine vs. freshwater), and pH of the water.
