ABSTRACT

The Dieffenbachia are tropical members of the Araceae family and important indoor ornamental plants because of their attractive variegated leaves. The Dieffenbachia inflorescence consists of an upright spadix surrounded by a spathe. Staminate flowers are attached to the top of the spadix while pistillate flowers are attached to the lower portion. Treated plants flowered uniformly with a significant increase in the number of blooms per plant. Plants flowered heavily after a single foliar spray of 250 to 1000 ppm. Plants have since been induced to bloom during different seasons of the year.
