ABSTRACT

Forsythia (Forsythia × intermedia Zab.: F. suspensa × F. viridissia), which belongs to the Oleaceae family, is a deciduous ornamental woody landscape shrub with arching or spreading branches that can be grown up to 3 m in height. There are also dwarfed selections which can be used as a ground cover or pot plants. This shrub is grown in gardens for its profuse and early spring flowering habit as the flowers are showy, yellow, and appear prior to leaf development. China and Korea are the sites of origin. 2
