ABSTRACT
The genus Hevea, a member of the Euphorbiaceae, is endemic to the Amazon basin and parts of Matto Grosso, the Upper Orinoco, and the Guianas in South America. 28 Nine species are now recognized in this genus. Of these, H. brasiliensis is the most important economically, accounting for virtually all the natural rubber produced today.
