ABSTRACT
Solidago — the goldenrod — belongs to the same tribe of the Compositae as Aster novi-belgii, the Astereae. 1 While there is only one native European species, S. virgaurea, the goldenrod of gardens (S. canadensis L.) is a North American plant and the experiments described below were carried out with this species.
