ABSTRACT
Gentiana is the most representative genus of the Gentianaceae, which includes 350 species. Gentiana species are native of alpine and cool climate regions throughout most of the world except Africa. It includes annuals, biennials, and hardy herbaceous perennials, but the majority of the species are hardy perennials.
