ABSTRACT

The genus Poa L. of the family Poaceae (Gramineae, Tribe Poeae), comprises some 200 species native to temperate regions and mountain ranges throughout the world. 2 , 11 Many of them are endemic in various countries. They are mostly perennials with a few annuals, with erect to procumbent or shortly creeping stems. Leaves are flat or boat-shaped and often abruptly contracting at the tip.
