ABSTRACT
Object-oriented computing “failed to deliver on the promise of reuse,” whereas reusable component-based software has provided for easy, rapid applications development. Based on the technology trend, only two types of programmers may very well prevail in the future: those who develop components using C, C++, and assembly language, and those who use component-based development systems to “glue” the components together into the applications.
