ABSTRACT

In today’s distributed computing environments, with so much information traversing wide area internets, it is imperative that the right transmission service be selected to ensure the uninterrupted flow of information between interconnected local area networks (LANs). With the types of applications running over LANs, relatively high bandwidth is required for relatively low-duty cycles. The transmissions onto the wide area networks (WAN) consist of bursts of data set at intermittent intervals.
