ABSTRACT
Legacy data is stored in DBMSs but is not easily shared, and legacy databases are usually built without consideration for the company’s future business requirements. They are generally developed as point solutions that consist of specific hardware, operating systems, and DBMS software (e.g., engineering applications independent of business applications).
