ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we describe an electrochemical method for (1) production of superoxide, (2) assay of superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity using any molecule which does not react with the electrode at the working potential, and (3) measurement of the catalytic rate constants of SODs. As an analytical method for SODs, the method has unique advantages, shared only by pulse radiolysis. In particular, these include the facts that:
