Bacterial viruses, morphologically, are fairly heterogeneous. Up to six morphological groups have been recognized.1’10 ^, 36 Recently, some new types have been described: a phage with a lipid-containing envelope, a large cubic phage active on Bdellovibrio, and a rod-like phage of Mycoplasma (Figures 25 to 27).
