ABSTRACT
All cells of the lymphoid system have their origin in reticulum cells (stem cells), which are predominantly found in the bone marrow; they also exist in other lymphoid tissues, where they are generally not associated with lymphopoiesis. An exception is the spleen, where considerable production of erythrocytes is observed.
