ABSTRACT

The editors gave me the opportunity to edit my talk for this publication. After some soul searching, I resisted the temptation to rewrite the talk to make it sound like a paper and to let it reflect what I've learned since presenting the talk. Instead, I am leaving it as it was, a conversation I had with the participants at the meeting. I've removed a few of the conversational warts, the ones that the ear accepts, but the eye rejects. However, despite vanity I have left most of them in. I hope this helps preserve the atmosphere of a meeting in which we learned from each other in imperfect, but stimulating, conversation.
