ABSTRACT

The paper presents a planned Norwegian Standard regarding quality requirements for risk analyses. SINTEF, Division of Safety and Reliability, is carrying out a project for the Royal Norwegian Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (NTNF) aimed at establishing a standard containing quality requirements for planning and accomplishment of risk analyses. Initially, the paper describes the project background and explains why a standard is an appropriate document. Emphasis is then put on the most important quality requirements set down in the present draft standard text. Finally, a short description of the associated guidelines is included.
