ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the Lindgren, along with some of the main applications and projects that involve the system. The Swedish academic computing landscape is organized under the auspices of Swedish National Infrastructure for Computing, the Swedish National Infrastructure for Computing. The PDC Center for High-Performance Computing, which is home to the Swedish Tier-1 system, Lindgren, is part of the KTH CSC School of Computer Science and Communication in Stockholm. Thanks to the availability of Lindgren, Swedish researchers have been able to prepare their simulations to be used on even larger systems and a significant number of Lindgren users have been successful in the highly competitive Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe calls. Lindgren is expected to stay in operation until the end of 2014 and to provide an uninterrupted service; the process for procuring follow-up system has been started. Lindgren is used to help in the preparation of applications geared towards future exascale systems.
