ABSTRACT

This chapter presents an evaluation of the technologies developed in the DREAMS project. It summarizes the wind-power domain demonstrator and analyzes a set of Key Performance Indicators used to measure the impact of DREAMS contributions with respect to the previously described challenges. The chapter provides an introduction to the wind-power demonstrator describing the wind-turbine ‘Human Machine Interface and communication’, ‘control and supervision’ and ‘safety protection’ functions, the Galileo platform, ethernet for control automation technology communication and required safety certification. It presents an open-source soft real-time ‘eHealth’ application based on extensions of PhysioNet WaveForm DataBase, Open Source Electrocardiogram (ECG) Analysis and WAVE modules. A safety-critical demonstrator was developed to highlight the applicability of the DREAMS architecture and the resource management capabilities. ECG analysis is initiated on the Zedboard upon acquisition of the heart beat signal trans-mitted by the Odroid XU4 board.
