ABSTRACT
Nail care and cosmetics are the latest trend in personal grooming these days. This chapter aims at elaborating the pros and cons of the cosmetic treatments done on the nails. Various nail cosmetics have been discussed in detail, along with their potential adverse effects. Newer techniques like Shellac, acrylic nail, and gel nails have also been elaborated. Gel nails have been reviewed in great detail and the author’s wide experience in the same has been discussed. Onychocosmeceuticals are also discussed, with emphasis on their correct and appropriate use. This chapter aims at educating the readers regarding the various products used in nail aesthetics, their side effects, and uses.
