ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses alternative techniques for the implementation of CEPA. As the geometry of the composite curves used in EPPD reflect the mathematical aspects of CEPA, an equivalent algebraic form exists. Thus, algebraic implementation of CEPA is introduced. This technique, which is easily executed using spreadsheets, is mathematically equivalent to EPPD. Alternatively, formulation of the CEPA problem as a Linear Program (LP) using the Automated Targeting Model (ATM) is also possible. The ATM approach can also be implemented in spreadsheet form, or using dedicated commercial optimization software such as LINGO. These alternative CEPA approaches are demonstrated in this chapter on illustrative case studies.
