ABSTRACT

The bio-inspired solution is feasible to implement and the tools and mechanism required to implement it are available. Network security software has been inspired by the immune system of the human body to catch abnormal behaviors and usage of resources on the network. Network on Chip (NoC) solved the communication issues between multiple cores present on the chip, but it also has encountered various faults. Fault tolerance is a key issue as devices on the chip are reducing in size using nanotechnology. There are two broad categories of faults: permanent and temporary faults. Fault tolerant algorithms are used to recover from the faulty router(s) and inter-connect(s) in the NoC. These techniques ensure reliable and efficient communication between source processing element (PE) and destination PE. In bio-inspired NoC, routers are connected with each other through bi-directional links. Guaranteed throughput service and BE are two broad categories of connection services in NoC.
