ABSTRACT

For the target audience of this book, it is assumed that you are interested in both sharing your software with colleagues, friends or the public, and maintaining/updating your code according to user feedback. Hence aspects of both crowd-sourcing and open-sourcing are briefly covered in this chapter. You may wish to only share your code with a small number of collaborators or colleagues. Many of the same principles apply. You may not wish to share your code at all, but rather share an application to provide a service to users. That is covered in this chapter too, including a practical example of creating an application in MATLAB.
