ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: This paper examines the experiences of an English language teacher in learning the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in a contemporary Professional Development (PD) and how the experience influences her pedagogical practices. The relationship between the socio-cultural factors underlying the construction of the teacher’s conceptions and pedagogical practices with ICT can be revealed using a life history interviews as the technique of data collection. A zoom model in the data analysis indicates that despite hands-on practice on good integration of ICT, she found some challenges in her English language classroom implementation after the program. The culture and ethos of school as an organisation influence the sustainability of change in her pedagogical practice. This implies that strategies of school ICT integration need to account for the complexities of other factors around teachers’ work and life in order to reach stronger sustainability of change in teachers’ pedagogical practices.
