ABSTRACT

Behaviour of high strength reinforced concrete beams in shear-flexure was experimentally investigated in the present study. The study was conducted for a concrete of grade 60 MPa. Three sets of beams of size 100 mm × 150 mm × 1500 mm, 100 mm × 150 mm × 1200 mm and 100 mm × 150 mm × 1000 mm were cast. The specimens were subjected to two point loading for a shear span to effective depth ratio of 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0. First crack load, ultimate load, load-deflection characteristics and crack patterns of the concrete beams were studied.
