ABSTRACT

In the present work, a k-epsilon turbulence model is utilized to study the phenomenon of window buffeting using Computation Fluid Dynamics. ANSYS Fluent is used for analysis in which the side window, near the driver, is opened at different levels of a passenger car model. The results demonstrated variation in pressure for various window openings and the pressure differences is found to create a buffeting effect. This study will help to understand the relationships between buffeting and vehicle crashes in the future.
