ABSTRACT

New paradigms of eHealthcare provide services through virtual hospitals where patients can communicate with physicians and the medical staff effortlessly using Internet-enabled cell phones, handheld personal digital assistants, or fixed network devices. eHealthcare data management is a core issue in contemporary hospitals and related systems. Mobile health (mHealth) is becoming a widely accepted means of supporting patient mobility and medical assistance beyond the conventional boundaries. eHealthcare applications are being developed using embedded platforms. The cloud is a virtual computing environment which provides applications, platforms, and software support as services. The mHealth industry has established its roots and is growing rapidly due to developments in the information and communication technology industry and the paradigm shift in healthcare system. The tendency to take advantage of cloud computing environment in all walks of life has provided an opportunity for software developers to extend services to the medical community for mHealth.
