ABSTRACT

The Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal is a small landlocked country situated in a strategic location between India and China in South Asia. Nepal is the second richest country regarding natural resources in the world, possessing about 2.27% of the world’s natural resources despite its size. The Nepalese economy is facing several challenges amid the high expectations and aspirations of Nepalese people for economic development. Urbanization in Nepal is dominated by a few large and medium cities with an excessive population concentration in the Kathmandu valley. Although real estate is in the early stage of development in Nepal, the Government of Nepal has made urban development a priority through its various policies, plans, and programs. Continued demand for hotel accommodation is also contributing to the demand for real estate in Nepal. People invest in real estate for residential purposes and farmland for a commercial purpose directly or indirectly.
