ABSTRACT

The significant growth of economy in a number of countries, together with the liberalization of civil air transport, now represents a significant impulse for the development of tourism, practically oriented almost in all countries of the world. This trend is confirmed by the World Trade Organization, International Civil Aviation Organization, and International Air Transport Association statistics. The main indicators characterizing tourism and its rate are the occupancy of public accommodation facilities, the registrable economic contribution of tourism, the extent of possible employability, and the extent of tourism in the balance of payments. The processed set of indicators represents the information base for the formation of the methodology necessary to determine the relationship between tourism and air transport in a particular region in the Czech Republic in order to ensure the necessary development of regional air transport.
