ABSTRACT

A digital map of parent materials was created for the territory of the Training and Experimental Soil Ecological Center. The map is based on the array of a database of 748 sampling points with GPS coordinates. Colorimetric characterization of soil samples was used for parent material diagnostic. 5 methods were applied to develop the map. The overall accuracy of the maps was within 0.69–0.74 and did not depend on the applied method significantly. It is shown that within the studied territory with an area of 338.9 ha, there are soils related to 11 lithological units (11 classes). Distribution of parent material is connected with geomorphology and sampling point position in the relief.
