ABSTRACT
Problems involving the draining of liquid from tanks, and from tanks into other tanks, can be solved by using a combination of mass balances and Bernoulli balances. The purpose of this experiment was to:
Conduct a tank draining experiment where liquid levels were measured as one tank drained into another
Model the experiment to predict the liquid levels in both tanks as a function of drain time
Compare model predictions with the experimental data
The predicted drain time from the mathematical model was about 10% less than the experimental drain time.
