ABSTRACT

Beer is good for health. In ancient Greece and throughout the middle ages, beer and ethanol were used for various medical applications. In recent decades, the appearance of powerful medicines eclipsed ethanol as a remedy. Recently, however, interest revived in ethanol’s possible positive effects on health. Caffeine and alcohol are drug models because they are well-studied medicines. They are widely consumed psychoactive drug. Caffeine, alcohol, and theobromine may serve as lead compound for the development of novel drugs. The popularization of cafés during the 19th century, replacing beer bars, decreased the consumption of alcohol during working days, improving health and safety at work. The flow sheet of information with the application of analytical methods was informed.
