ABSTRACT

Survey and questionnaire design has been a primary source of data collection within the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) context since the early days of the science (Baecker, Grudin, Buxton, & Greenberg, 1995). Within the HCI context, surveys are defined as compilations of questions that are implemented either via a computer or paper-and-pencil-based environment, that either have quantitative or qualitative scales, or are openended, and that target at extracting a variety of information from a representative sample of the target population (which is in most cases current or prospective users of an HCI system being evaluated).
