ABSTRACT
Once the diagnosis can be established with confidence, there are three major reasons for treatment failure in panic disorder patients: in adequate treatment, patient intolerance of treatment, and true treatment resistance, in which the patient fails to respond to adequately admin istered treatment. We discuss each of these areas in some detail, re viewing critical contributing factors and providing a reasonable clinical approach for each area.
