ABSTRACT

Innovations at the intersection of engineering, biotechnology, medicine, physical sciences, and information technology are spurring new directions in research, education, commercialization, and technology transfer. The future of nanotechnology is likely to continue in this interdisciplinary manner. Perhaps the greatest impact of nanotechnology will take place in the context of biology, biotechnology, and medicine. For the sake of simplicity, in this chapter, we refer to this arena of nanotechnology as bionanotechnology.
