ABSTRACT
Once or perhaps twice in their careers, detectives may come across a case so challenging that it has a lasting impact not only on the way they investigate crimes in the future, but it also influences how policing in general approaches specific major investigations. Such an investigation started in 2001 and is still ongoing.
