ABSTRACT
The application of electricity for therapeutic purposes dates back to antiquity. However, the development of new technologies and innovative applications provide new and exciting potential for applications in rehabilitation. Electrical stimulation therapy involves the application of external electrical energy to tissue, which results in the stimulation of a physiological response. The degree and type of response depends on the mode, quantity, and quality of energy and the anatomical location of the application site.
