12.1 Introduction During the past decade, the technologies of computing and communication networking have evolved significantly, and Internet and wireless mobile communications have radically revolutionized our communication environment. In the near future, more and more Internet services of both conventional and novel types will be smoothly accessed with various mobile devices through widely deployed wireless communication networks. The boundary between the Internet and wireless mobile communications is disappearing, through the convergence of the Internet and wireless mobile communications. With the rapid improvement in both networks and mobile terminals, significant advances have emerged in all fields of wireless mobile communications, including the number of mobile subscribers, the deployment of mobile communication systems, new advances in mobile techniques, along with the miscellaneous mobile services.
